Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson Star In ‘No Good Deed’
This could be a good one! Could “No Good Deed” be setting up a good deed for future black actors? Possibly.
It is what it seems, Idris is continuing to make moves in Hollywood and up next is his latest project ‘No Good Deed’ starring Taraji P Henson. Elba plays an escaped convict who charms his way into the home of wife and mother of two Terri (Taraji P. Henson).
An intense thriller and different from Idris’ catalogue of work thus far, it’s refreshing to not have the same stereotypical dramas where Black actors are pretty much type-casted because honestly after awhile, similar plots and similar storylines become boring and draining to sit through. Surely there are other roles to take on and this film is proving to be the case.
The film has already topped the box office in the U.S and from steady research it excelled expectations. So could this mean casting directors being more open to cast black actors in a variety of roles? Lets hope so, in the end it all comes down to money and what the consumers are watching, so in order to a see a change we need to support the movement.
So will I be watching? The opportunity to see a film that’ll possibly keep me on the edge of my seat the entire time, you bet. SUPPORT, SUPPORT, SUPPORT!

“No Good Deed” official UK release date is set for November 21st. Remember these films are only at cinemas for a short period of time, so check your local cinema listings and be sure to catch it quick.
