LET’S CROWDFUND: ‘LOOKING FOR LOVE’ MENELIK SHABAZZ NEEDS OUR SUPPORT!

Responsible for films such as, “The Story of Lovers Rock” and “Burning an Illusion” internationally acclaimed writer, director, producer, magazine publisher (Black Filmmakers Magazine) and educator, Menelik Shabazz has made his mark as a filmmaker in British cinema for over 30 years.
Now back with his latest film project, “Looking for Love” is a feature length documentary that tackles issues relating to black love: relationships, intimacy and sex. Apparently women and men all over are complaining about the current state of black relationships. It’s a global problem.
It features: singles, couples, psychologists and relationship experts putting their thoughts and ideologies across on this topic. Is it a cultural situation or is it simply the nature of society today? What forces, societal, historical and cultural means to have brought things down to such a sorry state? How did we get this way and how can we make things better? Those are just a few of the questions that approach and touch on what makes this documentary different.
In addition to this, there are a handful of Black British comedians thrown in for public pleasure and amusement from the likes of: Eddie Kadi, Kojo, Slim, Andi Osho, Donna Spence and also including Mr. T
The film has been set a release date for sometime during this year but if you are familiar with this story, you’ll know that Shabazz had taken to indiegogo.com back in November 2014 in hopes of raising £19,000 for post-production costs to get the documentary complete.
The campaign is still running but is scheduled to close in just a number of days. There has been no word yet on what will happen if the exact amount hasn’t been raised but Shabazz mentioned on his website. –
“Looking For Love” is part of a movement and social shift that is transforming, empowering and healing communities”.
