Hip-Hop legends Run-DMC are confirmed to headline Isle of Wight Festival in 2017

Amid rumours that the festival located in the English Channel would be cancelled, they now seem to be just that –rumours, as Run-DMC are announced as one of two acts set to headline the upcoming years Isle of Wight Festival on Friday 9th June 2017. 
Founding group member Joseph Simmons aka Rev Run commented in the course of the news saying: “We absolutely love playing in the UK, it’s always such a great reception. You guys rock! To be given the chance to play at such an iconic festival is huge and we’re really looking forward to it!”  
The festival is not really iconic for it’s taste in Hip-Hop music but John Giddings the promoter for the festival said: “The Isle of Wight Festival has always been known for it’s variety in music and this year is no different. To have the world’s first and most inspiring Hip-Hop group headlining alongside one of the world’s electronic DJ’s is fantastic.”
The pioneers of Hip-Hop will join David Guetta as headliners and if you care for the festival it shall take place from June 8th – June 11th 2017, early bird tickets are now on sale.
